What does Coffee say about the world?

Coffee says that the world needs its caffeine hot. Just slightly cooler than hot enough to leave burns in your mouth.

Or maybe it says you need your caffeine hot-but-then-over-ice.

It says that coffee beans should be consumed in liquid form.

It says that the world is incomplete without a drink that comes from a roasted coffee bean.

It says that things should come in instant and not-so-instant forms.

Coffee says that aroma is important.

It says the the essence of a substance should be versatile enough to literally fit in thousands of drink combinations.

Coffee says that the world needs people to grow, harvest, roast, package, sell, brew, sell some more, and consume.

Coffee is culture. At least it’s a cultural good. It creates a world that would not exist otherwise.

When you choose to drink it, you choose to not drink something else — tea, water, milk, soda, beer (hopefully not in the morning). Likewise when you spend money on it, you choose not to spend money on something else.

What else does coffee say about the world?
