Hello Christmas, We’ve Been Waiting.
We often talk about Christmas as a time of fullness.
But sometimes it’s a glaring picture of absence.
Merry Christmas.
Unto us a Savior is born.
An unsettling mix of fake joy, consumerism, and mixed messages.
How does one separate mockery and hope?
An alternative story from the noise?
It’s not about acting as if everything is fine and well. It’s not about just being thankful.
When the Savior enters the world, it should be about introspection. About community. About realizing what’s true and pursuing what’s better. Best.
Because we’re not waiting & hoping for the end. We’re waiting and hoping for the beginning.
